The men's team finished fourth in both Confer- ence and Regionals. The team gained alot of new runners on both j.V. and Varsity, who had never ran before. Our most improved runner on the Varsity team was Charles Royce, most out- standing runner was Tom Shelton, and most competitive was Chris Sporcic. AND THEYtRE OFF! This year was an excellent year for the women's team. They finished as dual conference champs beating Frankfurt. From the very beginning, we 'had had the feeling that the competition would always be between Heidelberg and Frankfurt. We had our number one runners, Missy Ray and Nisa Buster, and our second best runners Stacey Danielski and Robin Mickett. Right: The women are off to win the race. Wrestlers take it to the mat Strength. quickness. and endurance are three quali- ties every HHS wrestler has an abundance of. Sever- al of the last year's wrestlers returned to the team and gave it a strong backbone. Wrestlers were given individual recognition through the Wrestler 0f the Week program for their creditable achievements. Many went to the States over Christmas where the competition was of a higher degree. They learned a great deal about bOth their sport and their team- mates. Being a wrestler at Heidelberg High is defi- nitely something to be proud of, and this years team demonstrated teamwork, pride, and spirit throughout their winning season. 1' ; Top: Punishing his opponent Steve Conroy controls the match.
