uBEAUTIES WITH THE BEAT? rill team tryouts were held the first week of school and over thirty girls tried out for nineteen avail- able positions. The Squad was made up of twenty-two members and two alter- nates. Many of the girls attended the NCA TNational Cheerleading Associ- ationi clinic over the Labor Day week- 148 Sports end. Here they worked hard for three days, learning routines, drills, and skills to help make this years squad the best ever at HHS. The LionettesV first per- formance was the jellical Cats , dur- ing the pep rally that kicked Off the fall Sports programs. After that, the girls practiced daily after school learning and perfecting routines for haIf-time performances at the varsity football games, both home and away. These routines were choreographed by the girls on the team to popular songs, such as; Ghostbusters , On the Loose , Hello , and Run, Run, Away . Miss Dale Chapman and Mrs. Debbie Erikson are this years Drill Team sponsors. They contributed much of their free time to make this years Drill Team the best ever. ;r.
