Gild a Cab assa Betty Can ad a Between the anonymity of a sophomore and the omnipresence of a senior, there exists that unique entity called a JUNIOR. JUNIORS come in all heights, weights and shapes but all profess the same creed; to enjoy every second of every minute of every hour of every day and to contaminate everyone they meet with their enthusiasm. JUNIORS are found everywhere -- on top of, underneath, inside of, climbing on, swinging from, running around or jumping to. They are constantly underfoot, under- fed,- underappreciated and misunderstood. Underclassmen idolize them, seniors frat- ernize with them, teachers marvel at them and the administration tolerates them . A JUNIOR is potentiality encased in dreams, wisdom arranging the latest coif- fure, glamor in a sweatshirt and the Hope of '64 tripping over its own feet. A JUNIOR is ambition, daring and eX- posed nerve racing from a cross-country marathon to the quietness of the library. He is oblivious to the complexities of daily living, yet can comprehend the intricacies of a chemistry experiment,. the subtlety of poetry, the clamor of rock and roll and the abstraction of modern airt. They are the epitome of grace, balancing a tray in one hand while staking out a cafeteria table with the other, yet they Cannot maneuver themselves into or out of a desk without dropping a pencil, pen or book. They have climbed over half of the educational ladder, yet know there are still giant steps to surmount before the crest. A JUNIOR is a kaleidoscope of sur- prises -- he will surge forth in short time chasing laughter, the unknown, food, adventure and the opposite sex, yet plods along like a funeral dirge for Classes, work, rules, tradition and adults. He is constantly amazed at the weaknesses he sees in those he once thought were perfect, yet cannot realize how much he himself is changing daily. A JUNIOR can be frustrated by the simple and the obvious, yet when chal- lenged by the impossible, he will often unhesitatingly step forth where adults fear to tread, stating simply and honestly, Of course, I can!
