New Golf Team Formed Hefner Hefner had a golf team this year for the first time in the school's his- tory. The team was sponsored by Coach Bob Duggins, and the home course was the Lake Hefner Golf Course. Due to the wide popularity of the sport and the increasing number of junior high golf teams, the golf team The Hefner track team, composed of eighth grade and ninth grade teams was coached by Jim Depel. The team competed in seven duel meets and six tournaments including the Putnam City Triangular and the Central Conference meet. The eighth grade members did not compete on the ninth grade team if there was an eighth grade meet on that day. The only exception's were the two tournaments mentioned above. at Hefner was formed. The team was open to boys from all three grades.
