Not to be denied, however, they came back winning their next game with Kerr and smothering their last two opponents, Jarman and Monroney. The fourth game of the season turned mto a drsaster as Bob Stiles, halfback, breaks away for good yardage Carlin Yates, wingback, is about to catch a pass for a touch- down. 8th Grade Basketball fRow D Chuck Barnette, Mike Tabor, Carlon Yates, Steve Scroggins, Doug Simpson, Tim Schumacker, Pat Ryan, CROW 21 J. D. Swain, Mike Ragan, Steve Martin, Rob Bennett, Dan Patten, Coach Pinkerton Jones, Steve Duncan, Jim Darnell, John Boyer, Dale Stephens, Mackey Mitchell. The eighth grade Viking basketball team finished with an impressive 17-7 record under Coach Ron Pinkerton. Among others their tounament re- cord really showed school spirit. They placed Znd in the Edmond tourney and 4th in the conference tournament. The most impressive tournament was the Casady tourney in which they placed lst. Coach Pinkerton said the three high scorers were Steve Martin, John Boyer, and Pat Ryan. The Eighth Grade Basketball Schedule for this year included teams from Kerr, Central, E1 Reno, Moore, Western Oaks, Edmond, Putnam City Central, Monroney, and Jarman.
