What we are is God's gift to us. Governor Bill Clinton was the graduation speaker. He spoke to the graduates about their political responsibility urging them to register and vote. Below, senior Carol Loveland thanked Governor Clinton for taking time out in his busy schedule to speak to the class of '19. Many relatives of graduates were eager to talk to Governor Clinton after graduation.

Games We Play The 1978-79 girls and boys basketball teams were not what we expected it to be this year. The senior girls ended the season with a 2 win and 18 loss record. The girls really worked out hard every day but it just was not their year for basketball. The senior boys also did a good job in basketball but could not pull off the victories. They ended their season with a 2 win 20 loss record. Even though the 1978-79 senior football team ended their season with a record of 2 wins 7 losses they still got in there and fought the whole time. They are hanging in there and hoping they will have a better team next year. As for our track teams this year, all the ones that participat- ed in it knows what they went through. The bad weather did not help them at all. We had a few people to participate in the state meet and they broke Hector’s record of points. We had six points this year and only one in the past years. The 1978-79 baseball team did a tremendous job again this year and ended the season with a 11 and 5 record and first place in the District 4 AA East Champion- ship. The boys are proud of their trophy and hope to win it again next year for the third straight year. 30
