The senior girls ended the season with a 2 win and 18 loss record. The girls really worked out hard every day but it just was not their year for basketball. The senior boys also did a good job in basketball but could not pull off the victories. They ended their season with a 2 win 20 loss record. Even though the 1978-79 senior football team ended their season with a record of 2 wins 7 losses they still got in there and fought the whole time. They are hanging in there and hoping they will have a better team next year. As for our track teams this year, all the ones that participat- ed in it knows what they went through. The bad weather did not help them at all. We had a few people to participate in the state meet and they broke Hectorâs record of points. We had six points this year and only one in the past years. The 1978-79 baseball team did a tremendous job again this year and ended the season with a 11 and 5 record and first place in the District 4 AA East Champion- ship. The boys are proud of their trophy and hope to win it again next year for the third straight year. 30 31 Senior Football team turn them Every Which Way But Loose Twelve tough players weath- ered the 1978-79 football season. Home , to The Wildcats had another good year in ba- seball this year. All of the players really put forth an effort and came out on top. Their final record was 11 wins and 5 losses, and they retained the District IV East Championship for the second straight year. It seemed like the Wildcats were always getting behind until about the 5th inning and then would pull their way to the top. Each player really did a good job and we are proud of them all. Billy Allison, Alan Dris- kill, Donnie Haley and Kenny Barton were our leading hitters for the sea- son and James Bohanan was our best fielder and started in center field all 16 games.
