One of Hector's newest clubs is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The organization has come a long way with the assistance of Coach Bezet, Coach Peacock, and Mr. McLean. The club is made up of the Hector athletes. Throughout the year the club met every Monday night at the school building or at a club member's house. We have had two outstanding speakers. March 6, 1978, Sister Maria from the Saint John's Catholic Church in Russellville came to one of our meetings. She explained the Catholic religion to the group. February 20, 1978, Dr. Henri Crawley from Arkansas Tech University spoke on ''Evolution and the Bible. April 11, 1978, the group had a cookout at Lake Dardanelle. 20

Vocational Industrial Clubs of America Kenneth Ray Wood (background) and Steve Payton competed at Little Rock in the Plymouth trouble-shooting contest state finals. They qualified on a written examination as one of the top six teams in the state. The competition involved diagnosing and correcting mechanical problems. Standing: Kenny Wood, Ronny Wells, Steve Burch, Kenny Barton, lames Freeman, Randy Westbrook, and Danny Blair. The above students attended the Career Cen- ter at Russellville where the skills of welding, electronics, drafting, auto mechanics, machine shop, and horticulture are taught. 21
