THE 1973 WILDCAT HECTOR HIGH SCHOOL HECTOR, ARKANSAS VOLUME XXIII Martha Hallum, Editor Debbie Hays, Business Manager Mrs. Janice Owens, Sponsor OUR MANY MOODS Moods are a mirror A reflection of what is - what has been - Or what is to be. Moods, like flowers, can come Asa nurtured thing of infinite beauty, Or bursting forth as a wild galaxy of color Showing for all to see One's deepest thoughts and reflections. Serenity, as rare as a perfect gem, Can come creeping in like soft snow flakes On a still winter evening Or the calm of a tranquil pond On a soft summer day. Giving an inner strength which can sustain Through trials that could rent man's soul. Joy, like an untamed creature at play In a protected lair, Can come gamboling in Leaving a feeling of intense ecstasy Which cannot soon be forgotten Hate, bursts forth as dark as a thundercloud To blow and rage But for a short time. Clearing, leaving behind sorrow and pain, But hope for a brightening tomorrow. Moods, like seasons, can go As quietly as a dewdrop When the sun touches the leaf. Or as delicately as a flower petal Floating to the earth Leaving a nostalgia As sweet as the breath of a new dawn. Moods Are a Reflection of Life Competition 6 SENIOR 8 Top Left: Rev. A.E.
