Promotion Day came early. You finished your course of study sooner than we did. We have missed you! You were our friend, and friendship doesn’t end when one dies. A bright and shining length in our chain of friendship was broken July 26, 1961. That chain had been welded by memories that will linger as long as any of your class- mates live. Your smile still holds a warm place in the hearts of all those who loved you. No monument that could be built can compare with the monument of friendship you built for your self during your ten year s in our school. Life is not measured by how long one lives, but by how fully he puts his best into the time allotted him. Our classroom has never been quite the same without you. The memory of a friend is a jewel that time cannot destroy. We thank God for the years we spent with you. They will always be dear to our hearts. It is with deep feeling that we, the Sr. class dedicate this page to the memory of Carl Standridge.

'fri 'J' -■skh ffifer i. ;-V' S9 ■?’4 m •fr M ■$ .. 'i$K. mi Mrs. Florence Kerr for many years has taught citizenship to the students through the use of colorful flannel-graph Bible sto- ries. Tender, patient, devoted, always there---this has been her way! Her worth to the students could not be measured in gold. Vain would be our efforts should we try to repay in money or words the love she has shown to us. We can only hope to have the privilege of showing our gratitude to her by giving our best to other people---this she has constantly taught us to do. There’s no other way to tell Mrs. Kerr how much we love her. The high standards she has taught will be an inspiration to us for many years to come. By planting love and kindness and faith-in God, in our fellowman, and in ourselves, she has gathered a harvest of rich friendships. To you, Mrs. Kerr, our teacher, our friend, our Christian lead- er, we humbly dedicate our yearbook in sincere love and apprecia- tion. m
