To do great work, one must fall in love with his task. Artists and artisans have produced great masterpieces beaause they poured their whole soul into their creations. Devotion to an ideal brings to the scientist and engineer a thrill through new creations. Work that is done in the spirit of love glows with a mystic quality no one can explain. And the worker feels as did Robert Louis Stevenson, who said, I know what happiness is, for l have done good work. My best wishes to the graduating class. For many years now your responsibilities have been growing as you have grown. Your parents and teachers gradually give you more liberty as they felt you were more able to assume the important role of self direction . As you prove your abilities, our society will happily use you in many ways for the ad - vantage of all persons. DEDICATION We, the Senior Class of 1956, are very pleased to dedicate this Hectorian to Mr. A. P. Bergee, our superintendent from 1947-1956. Mr. Bergee has given to us his sincere interest and guidance through the years. These our- standing characteristics have made our school one of the finest in the state and they have also left an imprint on each one of us and as anex- pression of our heartfelt gratitude we are sin- cerely dedicating this book to him. We hope this small gesture will convey to him our profound appreciation and thankfulness for serv- ices we will not forget.
