Y unior Cfadd Lay DESHLRATE AMBROSE WDesperate Ambrosen, the play picked by the Junior Class, is a satire of the old West. It concerns a couple of would-be vaudeville comedians, who decide to head for California. In the middle of the desert, they are booted off the train, because someone has stolen their tickets. After trudging across the desert for a couple of days, they arrive at Dead Man's Gulch, the wildest, wooliest, roughest spot in the whole West, where everybody fights everybody else and blood flows like Old Faithful. It so happens that Homer and his pal Gun Smoke, the two most hard- shooting, hard-riding cowpokes that ever straddled a saddle, are expected in town at any moment. So when Ambrose and Bert hobble in, they're mistaken for the West's most fearless cowpunchers and from there on it's excitement galore. Not only do they have to deal with Hoot Owl Pete, the outlaw, but the sheriff too is crooked and it makes things pretty tough for Ambrose and Bert. Of course everything turns out fine and Ambrose becomes the hero everyone thought he was in the first place.
