Commencement PILCI.-Xl. SENIOR AC'1'IVI'l'IliS began this year with the annual Senior Picnic, again held at Camp Timanous. Activity of a celebrant nature continued at the Senior Ban- quet. This allair was made historic by the ap- pearance of a living facsimile of the l'hree Sisters picture which hangs on the wall of the dining room. Armed with many verses, these three portrayed in music the history of the school year. On Sunday alternoon, june 2, the Bacca- laureate Service was held in the Hebron Com- munity Haptist Church. The Reverend Doctor Percy L. Vernon, Honorary 1956, gave an in- spiring talk on the Measure ol' Success. Commencement events were initiated on Fri- day afternoon, -lune 7, by the annual baseball game with Deering High School, won by the visitors only after some long hits to mark the occasion were registered by Hebron. Following the Hcadmastcr's Tea the Commencement Ban- quet was held in the Gymnasium. Musical en- tertainment was furnished by the Band, the double quartet known as the -laybirds, and the Glee Club. Lambert Webber, President of the Senior Class, presented a check to Mr. Allen as the gilt ol' the Class of l957, to be used to pur- chase an oil painting for the Academy. The Reverend Frederick H. 'l'hompson, D.D., de- livered the main address of the evening and then Mr. Allen announced the year ending awards as voted by the faculty.
