CLMSJWQPHECP Nashville, Tennessee January 26, 1955 Dear Marthas Between semesters at Peabody College I decided to take a trip, to find out about my old classmates of H. H. S. Just before I left the depot at Nashville, who should I see but Joyce Boswell, who was working in the Cafeteria there. She couldn't cook for one man, so she decided to cook for them all. After boarding the train, I had the privilege to meet the nicest con- ductor, who was none other than J.C. Ball. I found out from him that Sara Boswell 1b head nurse at the Henderson Hospital, and that Nancy Phillips is sec- retary for one the local doctors. They are very happy with their work. While coming from Nashville, the train stopped in Murray, Kentucky. There I visited Murray State College, and saw two members of our class. They were Woodrow Ransom, who is majoring in commercial studies, and Thelma Hazel- wood who is majoring in Physical education. After touring the campus, I went to my hotel to recline. Ca,” you imagine who I saw—Mary Tillerson and her handsome husband who were on th’ir honeymoon. After resting for a while, I decided to take in the town. I stopped at the Belk-Settle Department Store where Doris Glassco is employed as a clerk. Doris told me that Bernard Hughes was back in the Hebbardsville Community farming with Melrose Hazelwood. She also told me, believe it or not, that the round-about Peggy Sugg had finally settled down and lives in Geneva, Kentucky. The next stop was Hopkinsville. While I was there I was invited to attend a big party, given by Ronald Goldsberry and Ernest Wilson, owners of two independent coal mines in Hopkinsville. After a long drive we finally arrived in Henderson. 1 stopped at one of the most popular restaurants in Henderson. Who do you think owned it? Martha Newman and Eleanor Frields. After having a friendly chat with Martha and Eleanor, I decided to visit Hebbardsville, where I found William C. Staples Bitting on the porch of Priest's Service Store. He told me that he had settled down and had a little family. He also said that his neighbor, James T. Boswell, was raising pure-bred Hampshire Hogs. I learned that one of our fine classmates, Betty Jean English had married, after waiting two years for a certain red-haired boy to return from the Air Force. Not hearing about James D. Risley, I journied to his home, and found that he was living in the Niagara community, where he was enjoying his work as basketball coach at Niagara High School. Returning from Risley's home, I was forced off the road by a big oil truck. When the driver got out, much to my surprise there stood Raymond Tillerson. Rat told me that the office girl for the oil company was Bettye Joyce Sigler. He also told me that Adell McLevain ran a Beauty Shoppe in Evansville, Indiana. Martha, I hear that your dream has come true, I understand that your husband has retired from the Army as a four star General, and may you have the best of luck in the future. Since I have heard from all the wonderful members of that dear old class of 1951, I wish them all a happy and successful life. Your former classmate, Norris F. Crafton
