Teachers The teacher, the dispenser of knowledge in the school system, is very often the subject of criticism by students. Many think that a teacher is some sort of inhuman creature that has no feelings. We often overlook the fact that, like us, teachers are people. Along with being an instructor to students, a teacher is also a friend to them. He or she is, in fact, a very special friend. From this friend, a student learns a great deal of valuable knowledge about life, in addition to the valuable knowledge he learns in school. Students should listen carefully as the teacher speaks, for in him speaks the voice of experience. Since he was once a youth also, a teacher knows the difficulties his pupils are facing, both in and out of school. He guides, encourages, and best of all, understands them. Students should realize the time and effort that teachers give in trying to help their students become better people. Therefore, the Class of 1974 would like to say a brief, but sincere thank you to our teachers - our friends. 52
