Under the supervision of Miss Floy Johnson, the club has proved itself a very valuable asset to the school, by contributing its part toward trans- mitting Heath High a more beautiful school than it was transmitted to us . DEBATE CLUB Our coach, Mr. Leon Smith, is working dili- gently to produce one of the best debating teams in the history of Heath High School. He has proved his ability as coach with the record our team made last year. QThey went through the eighth round in the State Debate Tournament at LeXington.j NVith eleven members in the debate club this year, our prospects for a winning season are very encouraging. XVith four experienced members, we expect to win honors in the state tournament. For the first time in the history of the debate club, we had the privilege of a radio debate, with Tilghman High School as our opponents. We have accepted an invitation from Southern Illinois State Debate Contest to be held at El- dorado, Illinois. We debate such teams as Tilghman, Bandana, Murray Training, Murray High, Lowes and Madisonville.
