Page fifty-one January 1 1-15-Sleet. No school. -FLOOD! ?! January 24-Refugees from Paducah move into the school building and school is dis- missed January 22 indefinitely. March 1-School starts again with a bang! NVe are willing to buckle downi' and make up for lost time. March 4-6-The Pirates capture the District Tournament hell at Barlow! March 12-13-Heath Pirates fight to semi-finals in he Regional Tournament at Murray where they are defeated by the Winners. They bring home the Consolation Cup. March 19-The first Senior play, Haunted Chair , coached by Miss Marshall thrills us. March 23-The class basketball tournament begins with the eighth grade downing the sevcn.h grade. March 24-A Preliminary Contest for public discussion anl dcclamation is held. Roy Vance, Edith Jett and jean Vance are victorious. March 26-27-Heath sends six entries to the District Music Contest at Murray. Five of these are rated as superior and one as good. March 26-27-The Heath Debale Team is victorious in the District Debate Tourna- ment at Murray. On to Lexington! March 31-May Queen and Maid of Honor are elected for the May Day Program. April 2-Twelve Seniors and Mrs. Lassiter attend Senior Day at Murray. Seniors! More Seniors! Most Seniors! The Junior play, Drums of Death , under the direction of Mr. Crisp is given in the school auditorium for a record breaking crowd. April 6-Seniors down the Sophs in the finals of the Class Basketball Tournament. April 6-The Debating Team leaves for Lexington to compete in the State Debate Tournament. April 9-An operetta, In the Land of Dreams Come True , presented by the Elementary Grades is a huge success. April 10-The debaters are eliminated in the eighth round of State Debate Tournament. April 14-K. E. A. Fine! Are we glad? April 20-Mr. Waller, a representative from the P. C., gives an inspiring talk to the student body during the chapel period. April 25-- Lock Who's Here , sponsored by Mrs. Koch is given. April 30-The Barkley Contest is held at the school. The Barkley medal is presented to the boy and the Heath High School medal is presented to the girl. May 5-The Juniors entertain the Seniors with an elaborate banquet. May 7-The Senior play, The Garden of the Moon , supervised by Miss Marshall gives a dramatic finish to the season's productions. May 9-Baccaulaureate Sermon. May 11-Class Night. The spirit of the school reveals herself and shows the Seniors the Seven Guides that direct them through life. May 13--Commencement. The Seniors realize this is merely a beginning and not the end. May 14-Honor Day. The time when all pupils who have made outstanding achieve- ments in any field are recognized. Grand Finale--Musical Revue presented by Miss Molete Morelock and Mrs. F. S. Kelley.
