CALENDAR... August 24-School opens with a larger enrollment than has ever been known at Heath. August 31-The cafeteria is now in service and the students are making use of it. September 7-Hoorray! We are all off to celebrate Labor Day. September 15-Mr. Basil Smith and fourteen Agriculture boys leave for the State Fair. September 16-Sponsor of the Pirata and Pirata staff are elected. September 23-The cheer leaders are elected, and have we got PEP? October 2-We present a varied program for the Paducah Industrial College. October 6-The Seniors are a happy bunch. They receive their class rings. Oczober 9-Teachers go to F. D. E. A. and the students enjoy a holiday. October 16-Heath Community Fair. A large crowd and a big time for everyone. The Pirates are defeated by Reidland. October 17-Another big day of the fair, especially for the prize winners. The Yellow Shadow , a three-act mystery, sponsored by Mr. Crisp goes over the foot lights. October 27-The Lions Club meets in the school auditorium. A program is given by the Music Department, Tumblers and the Clogging class. October 30-Heath defeats Lynn Grove. The first appearance of the Pep Squad in uniform, and Did We Shine? November 4-Believe it or not, the ground is white and the trees are hanging with snow. November 6-The Pirates defeat Sharp. November 7-The Juniors and Seniors enjoy a tacky party in the school auditorium. November 10-Armistic program is put on by the students. A November 11-School is dismissed for Armistice Day.. November 12- It's A Knockout , a muscial comedy, sponsored by the Farm Bureau, is presented in the school auditorium. November 13-An unlucky day for the Pirates. They are defeated by Calvert City two points. November 17-An ad drive is started for the annual. , November 25-Community Day with turkey and eats plentiful. Senator Barkley speaks to the visitors and student body in the afternoon. November 27-The Pirates are defeated by the Reidland Greyhounds. December 4-Heath downs Lone Oak. December 10-A student faculty takes charge the first and second period while the faculty has a meeting. December 11-Heaths win over the undefeated Barlow team! December 14-The student body is treated with a talk in chapel given by Bro. O'Donley. December 15-Mid-Semester exams begin and the students are supposed to know every- thing and the teachers know nothing. December 18-A Christmas program is put on by Mrs. Kelly. Santa wi.h his pack of toys, made every child happy with a gift. CHRISTMAS VACATION. January 4-We all get back in our harness after having made resolutions for a better semester than the first.
