Students try to take all snap courses offered, especially Seniors, and clamor and conflicts result. january 7-Miss Morelock, the teacher that filled Mrs. Barnreutherls vacancy, organized a Physical Education Class for girls. january I4-'COHIIQCIS are let for the different projects of beautifyingr the school ground.- The Seniors contract to build a walk to the shop, and to start as soon as the weastlher permits. january 25-Individual pictures for the Pirata are taken of the teachers and the Seniors at Sacra's Studio. january 30-Mr. Sacra journeys out and takes the pictures of all classes and aqtivities for the Pirata . February I--Pirates leave state of Kentucky and meet the Metropolis Community High School Trojans. February 6-The shop for the farmers in agriculture is completed, ready for use. lt has every electrical appliance imaginable, and has proved to be invaluable. February 9-No burnt cork in this Minstrel. The roles were characterized by members of the W. P. H. S. for Negroes. February 15-The Pirates took an enjoyable motor trip to Edwardsville, lllinois, and re- mained over night. February 25-The P. T. A. intends to protect the walls under the goals from henceforth and now on . Mats were draped to counteract attempted onslaughts. March I-District Tournament begins. Heath, Lone Oak and Tilghman survive. March 2-Heath and Tifghman win semi-finals. Heath captures the District Title. March 7-The Pirates go to the Regional Tournament at Reidland. March 11-Graduating members of the squad received their sweaters with basketball letters and service stripes attached. 1 Keen jobs! March 13-Milton Anderson, lawyer of Wiekliffe, Kentucky, gave an inspiring chapel talk. March 15-The gifted Dramatic Club, under the able direction of Mrs. Koch, put across the footlights, The Gate to Happiness . March 19-Our dim visions and thoughts of japan were polished considerably by a true japanese, who sold samples of japanese paintings. March 21-Brother jones, of Brazil, told us many interesting facts about his country. March 22-23-Larnb's Dog Show. Many were surprised, and some disappointed by the Mental Telepathy expert that accompanied the show. March 2S'Mf. Crisp was very easy to get along with today. Now hc is pilot of a new Ford V8-when Mrs. Crisp isn't. ' March 26-The world renowned Carnival and Mardi Gras of New Orleans was explained very interestingly by Mrs. S. Pecora, a native of that city. March 28-A Negro Minstrel was given before a thrill-loving audience, and they were not disappointed. April 2-The debating team, runners-up at the District Debating Contest, go to Lexington to participate in the State meet. April 5-Soloists, Quartet, Trios and Choruses attend Murray for District Contest of Music. April II-120-While students enjoy their short vacation, the teachers attend the K. E. A. April I9-'-ThC Junior play, Looking Lovely , sponsored by Mrs. Swift, is given. Apr' 22-The Barkley Medal Contest is held. Apr. 23-Mrs. Atlas Knott's piano students, and Mrs. Koch's expression students give a Reci J entertained the Seniors with a feed and a movie at Barlow. , So You're From Missouri , directed by Mr. B. K. Dowell, Sermon. The last time the Seniors entertain as a class. Words cannot express how the Seniors prize those sheep skins. of Tur ijHDRidge , a farce-comedy in three acts, is presented by fof the ramatic Club. 1-

't I CALENDAR August 20-School opens! The Senior enrollment proves to be one of quality and not quantity'l, and all are unmarried-that is, except one. August 27-'W0fk on Tennis and Croquet courts is begun. Extra-curricular sponsors chosen. August 29-The novelty of school is over and everybody is ready for business. Of course, the Freshmen are still bewildered as well as frightened. September 5iMr. B. K. Dowell. arrives on the scene as our new teacher . Mrs. Leon Smith hah been the sub . September I0-Mr. Lecky and his Stock Judging Team, composed of Ray Hodges, Alvin Judd and Roy Vance, attended State Fair and made a creditable showing. September 14.- Dirty Politics ? Maybe. Sponsors and officers of classes are elected. September 21-The journalism Class start operating the new Ditto and turn out the school paper, a weekly treat this year. ' V . September 25-Book lovers rejoice, as zoo new books are placed in the school library. October I-Th building of the farm shop is started. It'is located so as not to interfere with the classes. October 3-Mr. Lecky, agriculture teacher, organized an ambitious group of Future Farmers Oct ber 5-The Seniors enjoyed their first outing at Fort Massac Park, Metropolis, Ill. October 8-Student body hears jewish speaker-a few understood. October I0-Brother Chatfield of Georgia, addresses the student body in chapel. October 12-Heath Community Fair. Everybody came and everybody enjoyed themselvesg especially the ribbon winners. . October I91ThC Pirates start the basketball season right, by defeating the Reidland' Greyhounds. October 27-A Hallowe'en party for jack o' lanterns, goblins, black cats, witches, and assorted spooks goes over with a bang , November z- Wild Flower of the Hills , Mrs. Harvey Koch's Dramatic Club's first accomplishment, is presented. November 5-Camera-shy students are in for some bad moments. A photography studio is installed under Mr. Crisp's supervision. November ISQMTS. Euruth Swift's Dan'l Websters take a stride forward by winning their first debate. They have fine prospects this year. November 17-Gravel for the new school building at Heath, which is to be built soon, was hauled by the students. Time will heal any wound , so, the many blistered hands will not last eternally. November I9-A weeping willow tree was planted by the Senior Class. November 21-A day of music. Band instruments are purchased, and the W. K. l. C. Quartet entertained with a few vocal selections. November 26-Heath Community observed Thanksgiving day. Eats galore, with many people present. The Senior turkey was the attractive centerpiece. ! December 4-The prerequisites of an annual staff are checked and double cheiiltecln, and the staff is chosen. December 10-Smiles spread over the Seniors faces when the class rings smiles refused to fade even when the heartache of big knuckles was f r experienced. ' December 15-A full-sized carnival was held in the school building. ,operation made it a grand success--and howl December 18-Student Council appointed. They start immediately to assigned them.
