Communication is important not only within our own country, but also between countries. The study of language helps a student to better understand the people of other countries. At Heath, students are offered courses in Spanish and French. During the first two years basic fundamentals are taught and each student gains some knowledge of the country's history. For those who wish to continue this study, thir d and fourth year courses are given in which students translate plays and write term papers. . One of the basic ne c e s s itie s for all who wish to succeed is communication. Whether or not a student intends to continue his education after high school he will find that his ability to communicate will be improved and increased by a knowledge of proper English. During a student's first two years at Heath, English courses stress grammar, with some literature. Later, he may choose between college and business English.
