The French Club members are students in the French classes. The Club promotes and encourages an interest in the history of France, her culture, industries, and famous citizens as well as current events in France. LATIN CLUB The Latin Club endeavors to relate the culture and contributions of the Roman people, once the proud rulers of the world to the youth of today, who seek know- ledge, appreciate their heritage and wish to give a better vision of the foundation of our own language. Overall Goal - To help individuals improve personal, family and community living. Motto - Toward New Horizons! FHA BEAU - John Ross Helms 62 FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA The Future Farmers of America consists of boys from the 9th to the 12th grade that are enrolled in Agriculture. These boys have set a very high standard for themselves whether remodeling the Agriculture building or reworking the stadium bleachers. President - Tom Solomon, Vice President - Mac Davis, Secretary - John Price, Reporter - Penny Jo White. 64 STUDENT COUNCIL President - Ronnie Laye, Vice President - David Gull- edge, Secretary - Gayle Beasley, Treasurer - Hugh Kirkland, Reporter - Sandra Bayne. The Student Council is composed of two representatives from each class. Officers are selected in a campus election. The Student Council sponsored a talent show Christmas. Members of the Council are also responsible for seeing that the flags in front of the building are raised and lowered each day. FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA FBLA is designed to help business students prepare for entry into business and office occupa- tions. One of the major objectives of FBLA is to develop self-confidence and business leadership. Business leaders in the community are invited to speak at meetings, thereby the students come into actual contact with business situations. The programs are an effective means of creating interest in choosing business occupations and in improving the standards for entrance into those fields. New members are inducted early in the second semester each year. It helps them to develop skills, to develop appreciation for scientific information; to develop leadership and citizenship that will be useful regardless of occupation; and discover, develop, and use wisely their individual abilities and talents. We have about 900 boys and girls enrolled in Henry County 4-H Clubs. Each member per- forms some useful work. Four-H achievements take an even greater significance in the development of sturdy character traits and a desire on the part of 4-H members to do their full share of the world's work. It works for the benefit of charity organizations as, The March of Dimes, The Heart Fund, Easter Seals, and Rehabilitation Centers. The Key Club also attempts to promote its home school in the forms of beautification, pride, good character and name.
