Principal’s Message EADLAND HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL HEADLAND. ALABAMA February 14, 1967, To the La Resume Staff and the Student Body: We are living in an age of rapidly accelerating technological change. Electronic digital computers can, in a few hours, outperform a man's lifetime of work. Automation is re- placing workers by the hundreds of thousands. Jets and rockets have shrunk the earth to a small fraction of its former size, and all nations have become next door neighbors. Yes, times change, but people don't. The rules for living remain static. Those who live by these rules continue to be successful, perhaps not in material wealth, but more significantly in their relationships with other people. What are some of these rules ? First of all there is HONESTY. We must be honest with ourselves as well as with others. Everyday prob- lems must be faced realistically and with confidence, and yet we must realize our limitations. Then there is LOYALTY. We need to maintain a loyalto to our school, our employer, our church, our community and our country. Finally, there is HARD WORK. Our country was not made by those who put forth just enough effort to get by. It is effort beyond the minimum demands of your teacher or your employer that turns the acceptable job into an excellent one. To the seniors we wish for you the best in health happiness and success. To you the undergraduates, the chal- lenge is great. We hope you will accept it and work hard to strengthen your educational background so that you may successfully compete in this demanding world.
