FP-uuapala I have the honor herewith to present the ninth of my messages for La Resume. On behalf of the board of education, faculty, and student body let me express sincere appreciation to the staff for this splendid edition of our yearbook. May we continue to have in our school a priceless, invigorating quality of restlessness, selfdissatisfaction, and innovation, a driving urge to greater excellence, a sense of the deep importance of giving the best that is inus to the welfare of our country and to the glory of our God.

- a I am appreciative of the courtesy which affords me the opportunity to extend congratulations to members of the 1957 graduating class for the goal they have reached. The urgency of our times places each of us in a position sothat we are faced with the responsibility of analyzing the demands made of us and of initiating plans to ca.rry out these responsibilities. The social and economic problems, both domestic and interna- tional. are growing at alarming rates. In such an emergency the degree of success that can be achieved in our democratic country is deter- mined by the level of intelligence and foresight of the peopleg there- fore, it is important that we prepare ourselves to cope with the social and economical changes brought about by a rapidly changing world.
