Semen Glaaa dqldflldflfq A warm day IH August IH the year nlneteen hundred forty two marked the 1n1t1al flight of the class of 45 into the blue sky of their sophomore year As their B 17 left the ground a thrill of ant1c1pat1on went through the in experienced but enthuslastic crew Their first flight was under the leadership of their newly chosen ofhcers pilot Robert Sacco co pilot John Ballots and assistants Nancy North and Lucille Broyan The trlp was made with out mishap and the Group settled gracefully to the ground hating safely withstood the bumps of their first flight in high school life The second Journey was taken with more assurance Phe faithful B 17 was replaced with a more streamlined efficlent model the B 24 Co pllot John Ballots was promoted to the foremost pos1t1on of pilot with a newly elected helper Edward Monahan whose assistants were Elsie Bonln and Jane Gickmg The ship soared maJest1cally into the air and the crew of only a year s experience gained in confidence and took a more prominent place in act1v1t1es The final trip was taken 1n September nineteen hundred forty four assistants Nlancy North and Elsie Bonin Their newest ship the B 29 whlch climbed easily from the earth was handled well by the crew took a smooth and worthwhile Journey Their achlevements were the pre senior day dance with music by Oss Werley and 1n senior day itself w1th the class rolling in the aisles at Antics Spring a one act comedy presented by members of the senlor class The H H S Jazz band under the direction of Jakle Clatch entertained As the tlme for the flight shortened the shining plane banked and the second opportunity to dlsplay their talents was given to the class in the form of the senior farewell program Muslcally sweet dramatlcally successful the program brought closer the final goal of graduation Prepara tions complete the senior prom signaled the end of the crew s pleasures to gether and the ship made a smooth landing on the day of graduation A the group bid farewell and retired from thelr B 29 there was sadness in their hearts but satisfaction IH then eyes I O 1 I , 1 ,I 1 u 5. . . - The crew chose Mike DeNoia as pilot, Johnny Ballots as co-pilot, and the . y . . l. hu . .S S C JAN US 45 23
