Senior Class History Late in the summer of 1940, a group of Hazleton High School students began work on a gigantic project called Graduation 1943 . To lead them in planning and laying the foundations, they chose Gladys Snyder, Albert Brown, Marion Seidel, and James Porpiglia. Under these capable leaders, the early difficulties were easily overcome and a firm basis for the great work was established. During the second year, rapid progress was made under the leadership of Anthony Moran, Jay Porpiglia, Patricia Campbell, and Eleanor Yanick. As time went on, the knowledge gained in school was added to the material necessary for a sound, well-built structure. For the third and final year, the same officers were retained, each holding a different position than in the previous term, however. By January, the project was nearly finished. Only a few remaining details were needed for its successful completion. To celebrate, the workers held a gala dance and witnessed an entertaining three-act comedy, Seeing Double . Now as graduation draws near, the Class of '43 can look back with pride on its three years at H.H.S. and can glory in the satisfaction of a job well-done. W ' --- . , .
