At the end of the year we all had a wonderful tnme the day we spent at Rollnna Green Park f 6'l As we became Juniors, we were finally recognized as upperclassmen, and at last we were able to try our wings. With the new responsibilities at hand, we elected the following class ofhcers to steer us through the year: President, Bernard Dworsky, Vice President, Lloyd Samuels, Secretary, Bonnie Schalterg Treasurer, Patricia Keenan. Happy was the day when we received our longed- for class rings. Were we proud! We thought our im- portance and distinction could never be surpassed. Mr. Hellings, who had been a wonderful and devoted principal at Hazle Township for over thirty-seven years, left us at Mid-Term and retired to a well de- served rest at his home. Mr. Boyle saved the day and took on all the responsibilities as acting-principal until the end of the term. Soon after the Mid-Year Exams, we began planning and practicing for our first production - Junior Day. We seemed almost like professionals, with the singing and dancing, comical skits, and the ever-famous l-laircutsf' The gymnasium beautifully decorated in red and white gave a vivacious atmosphere for the crowning of Albert Denesevich and Patricia Vetter as Mr. and Miss Junior Day. The climaxing event of the year was another trip to the Candy-Bar-Land - Hershey Park. ,xv Crownnng of Brenda Merlcer our Snow Queen at the Sem: Our Sensor year beaan wuth a few chanaes a new prnncloal Mr Galaanovncz some new rules stlffer sublects and more responsubnlmes Fnguratlvely spealcrng we grew up over nrgltt We had to No more were there upperclassmen Now we were looked upon as leaders and we proudly accepted the new responslbulntnes Bernard Dworslcy was elected Presndent of the class for the thrrd tlme Vice Presldent was Charles Horn and Vurgunna Sabo and Betty Galatlwa were secretary and treasurer respectnvely Our famous HAIRCUTS A Senlor Day slut 43 9 ., 1 ' E I A NX 7 4 4' ' fs X ' V . l 'gifs' MY rf ' 'K xy' ,I 'cs' , . Our trip to the Nation's Capitol was fabulous, marvelous, exciting, magnihque, and all other adiectives that could describe such an event. We visited the White House, the Washington Monument and many other famous landmarks. Surely everyone of us will always remember the four wonderful days spent in Washington. To Mr, Dushanko, our devoted and understanding advisor, who guided us through all our hardships, we say Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Without his guidance and concern we would never have been able to fullhl our dreams. Graduation! What does this word mean? To some - it iust means the end - the end of school -the end of learning. To the others - it means the completion of twelve years of learning and studying lust a fractional part of the knowledge and education that will be received throughout a lifetime Graduation is the end of a wonderful life in school but it is the beginning of a new life of unknown adventures in this great big world And so we leave you Hazle Township High School and the friends and acquaintances we have made to go out into that world and embark upon a new future And we thank you for the training you have given us so that we may become great citizens' Q Mr Galganovicz congratu'ates the award winners at graduation 43 Patsy Vetter Because of her pleasing personality and friendly attitude, this blue eyed blonde had the honor of being named Miss Junior Day by popu lar vote of the class. Pat has been an active member of the F H A as well as participating in other school activities. She will always be remembered tor her reign as Miss Junior Day. MR. 8: MISS JUNIOR DAY Excelling in football and serving as a member of the Student Council, Albert was elected as Mr. Junior Day. Handsome and mischievous, he was always found in the midst of merry- makers. Worries and cares seldom bothered this cheerful fellow.
