Concert band works very hard throughout the year on the rudiments of music to prepare them for the more advanced bands later. WIND ENSEMBLE Members: Don Alder, Lori Balken, Tricia Boren, Ted Byrne, David Clark, Cece DallaSanta, Paul Dean, Sue Edgar, Kathy Frank, David Garner, Sharyl Graham, Craig Hatfield, Bart Heer, Scott Holmes, Adam Keuhn, Dan Kyes, Scott Lacey, Barb Larson, Kristi Leudke, Troy Mayes, Mitzi McAllister, Cindy Nelson, Tom Larson, Jennelle Petit, Kelli Richardson, Pat Rooney, Fred Sanders, Christine Spiry, John Sumpter, Becky Torgramsen, Steve Underwood, Karen VanBeek, Laura White 0 A Sweet soft sounds, . . by Chris and Karen Sharyl, Mitsi, and Laura are key notes. Wind Ensemble is one of the most advanced musical groups at Hazen. lt is made up of mostly Seniors with a few underclass- men and two very talented freshmen. Wind Ensemble partici- pates in all of the school concerts. They also participate in many contests, including the NPSL Large Group Contest and the Shoreline Invitational. Students also participate in the solo and ensemble contest which was held at Kentridge this year.

During our performances we have had the opportunity to do at least one solo per concert. The accomplish- ments of this year hold promise for our future choirs.
