Can't remember a word that he said but my daydreams kept me safe with an interested look upon my face and he doesn't realize that I am thinking of last weekend this weekend Christmas vacation and New Year's Eve not German verb tenses or how the Great American desert became populated CI couldn't tell you that, ofcoursej but tomorrow I'll suffer along with my friends when ths final test is set before me paper and pen, clear off your desk! crossed fingers and whispered prayers strained memories which go on strike at the very crucial moments sidewise glances are prohibitied as I focus my eyes upon purple and white mimeographed paper which has a sickening odor when you stick your nose to it Nothing familiar. .. not enough to count on I look for the answers somewhere. . . in my disorganized mind and dig up a few H which sound half-intelligent Why, oh, why didn't I read that chapter? QF 6 k X A. if ' 1' . A Nxl-M Mr Brannian, junior counselor, talks with junior Cindy Dallas. Contradiction is one word which could be used to describe the junior class of 1970-71. Almost always falling drasz- tically short of winning competition yells at pep assemblies, the class of '72' never- the-less contributed much to Hazen spirit. There was a consistently large junior tumout at all home games. Sports teams, program sellers and committees filled their ranks with juniors. Student govemment proved to be another example of this involvement. Three out ofthe four top executive offices were held by members ofthis class. Responsible for the organization of class activities was the Junior Board. Composed of fifteen members, the board met before, during, and after school at somewhat irregular intervals. Among the activities which they spon- sered was a Fall Dance. This dance was held for the purpose of raising funds fortheJunior Prom. Winter offered an opportunity for a snow party. It was the second snow party to be sponsored by this class in two years. After these events and several other fund-raising functions, the Board tackled the problems involved in having a Junior Prom. There were fears that there would not be sufficient interest in such a dance. But the Board took a gamble and decided to go ahead with the planning, and sponsor the dance. In summing up the junior class, Pres- ident Doug Temet had a few words to say. He believes the juniors have the potential, spirit, and manpower to be- come the number 1 class at Hazen. 54 Forthe Juniors, 1970 was a time before the final countdown. . 5.3 z ' f -ws 7 5 .
