With practices two nights a week, two hours a night, the girls were able to learn various basic skills and game strategy such as the fast-break and man-to-man offense. The game rules were similar to those of the boys, Clive man and full courtj but in officiating, tagging and pushing off were called more closely. Unfortunately because of much red K, E tape, the girls weren't able to schedule any games for this year, but next year ,they hope to play against Sammamish, Renton, North Thurston, and possibly Highline. as 4 5 2 Q 3 af 2 3 at s .X 2

A Winter Wonderland, held on December 12, was sponsored by Girls' Club. The dance was semiformal, and music was provided by the Bluebird 1 I Tolo Week, the week of activities preceeding tolo, was climaxed by the dance. Partway through the evening, Gary Reed was crowned Tolo King. Bales of hay and a mural from Tum- bleweeds added atmosphere to the annual grub tolo- The Wild, Wild West. Held on February 19, grub tolo was 'also sponsored by Girls' Club. They were responsible for all decorations and refreshments, which included apple juice and pretzels. Couples danced to the music of the Dancing Bare . Rummage sale and carnival fun. . K- One ofthe many fund raising activ- ities at Hazen this year was the rummage sale. It was held along with a carnival on February 27 and 28. Chairmen Cindy Collie and Rey Araujo organized the sale and circulated flyers throughout the r' Q school. They had to see that enough old rummage was collected. They then priced the items according to their quality andddesirability. The main source of rummage came from the teachers and Q students who donated usable goods. The rummage sale was held in the Hazen band room while the carnival occupied the cafeteria. The idea was x ' to hold both of these activities at the Q same time, so parents could leave their children at the carnival while attending the rummage sale. In Wert, .
