Homecoming '73 links tradition with contemporary fall festivities Homecomings are traditional, yet each Homecoming remains as unique as the people who create it. This year's fall festivities were set to the theme of an Underwater Fantasy as Hazel- wood students created their 1973 Homecoming weekend. Colorful floats reflected the ocean's treasures als the Homecoming Parade travelled its Saturday morning route. Concert Choir's entry in the float competition, Clam the Rams was awarded first place by judges, while court maids and cheerleaders were seated in convertibles to prepare for H the windy excursion. The gridiron was the focus of after- noon attention as the Hawks battled the Riverview Rams, but the excite- ment reached its peak when Ruth Delaney was announced queen at half-time ceremonies. The day was concluded with an evening under the sea at the annual Homecoming Dance. An oyster shell throne, complemented by murals de- picting underwater sea life, set the stage for Coronation of the fantasy's queen. Above . . .
