There were many things happening around the world including the starving in Ethiopia. Two Soviet leaders died this year. They are now in there third leader. Reagan won the presidential elections hy a landslide, and we had our first lady running for vice- president on Mr. Mondale's ticket who was Geraldine Ferarro. They also started to renovate the Statue of Liberty. The Tigers won the 84” World Series. In their 85” season they were off to a great start! Bless You Boys, Do It Again!!! The styles have mostly stayed the same this year, with only a few added items. Cable Knit sweaters in all colors were very popular and to coordinate with those 28 were jeans like Levis 501, Guess and baggies with jumbo pockets in kbaki colors. Prince seemed to make lace in style and no one knows wbo made neon in style??? D resses in pastel colors went very well in tbe spring. Detailed accessories like pearls, beads and belts were in, with different colors and shapes. Sayings were also in tbis year with everyone telling you to ' Get A Life,” Get Paied” or ask you What's Up?” When you saw on?of your friends in tbe ball wbat did they call you? Ozzy!??” if you were found in your class early or doing your work on your own you were called a Squid, and we can t forget tbe ever popular Psych”. As tbe year drew to an end we did not forget our memories in and out of school. This year the music business flourished. Michael Jackson lost his popularity and Prince Rogers Nelson gained his. madonna was very hig with hits like ' Lucky Star'' and Like a Virgin. Ti na Turner came hack on the charts with hits like What's Love Got To Do With It and Private Dancer. Some actors came into the music business as well, like Jack Wagner (Frisco) from General Hospital with You re All I Need.' People starving in Ethiopia instigated about 40 musicians in Europe to get together to form a group called Band-Aide. They came together free of charge to make a song called 30 Feed the World. All the money they made went to huy food for the starving people. This set off a chain of other countries doing the same thing, and we were one of them U.S.A. formed U.S.A.. .for Africa. We made a whole album with one major song with stars like Lionel Richie, Dianna Ross and Cindy Lauper. Many other stars made songs of their own to he included on the album from which all the money went to Eth iopia. Canada was in there also with Northern Lights singing Tears Aren’t Enough.” There were a lot of money-mahing movies this year. Almost everyone saw Eddy Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop.” ’Breakfast Club” came out and it seemed to relate to almost everyone’s problems with theii parents while growing up. And still another movie, Friday the 13th,” this time part 5. 31 Club Francais, Language Clu This year the language cluh went really well.
