Later in the football season, we were able to watch our home games on the new city cable television system, We watched (now Hall-of-Fame members) Keith Bennett and Tim Ridinger make football history . The system features 3 movie channels, sports channels, city and school access channels, and the ever-popular MTV, a music video station. The video craze took hold in Hazel Park as well as in the rest of the world. For a quarter (or token) you could play arcade favorites like Pac-man, Ms. Pac-man, Defender, Tempest, Frogger or Donkey Kong. Due to the popularity of video games, restaurant arcades like Chuck E. Cheese Pizzatime Theatre, Major Magic's, and Showbiz Pizza Place opened. These restaurants featured video games, and animated characters and small rides for young children. With the accent on good health, many companies introduced caffine-free pops. Many popular people also got into the fitness craze hy writing their own hooks and recording their own aerohicize albums. 14
