Dedicated to Mr. Daniel Grant Because He Cared Enough To Give His Very Best Mr. Daniel Grant, born in Kennebunk Maine, has been in the Hazel Park School District since 1970 when he started as an English-Social Studies teacher at Webb Junior High. He transferred to the High School in the fall of 1974 and has taught Government, Consumer Economics, and History since then. Being advisor to the Senior Class and the Board of Directors, and also being in charge of student activities has made the face of Mr. Grant well known to the entire student body. Some of his responsibilities concerning the Senior Class include the planning of the Senior Breakfast, Banquet, and Variety Show, Class Day, and Commencement. Mr. Grant’s time spent at school goes beyond the normal school hours. Announcing for J.V. football games and track meets, working concession stand, supervising dances and other after school activities are some of the many things he does. He works tirelessly for the betterment of the entire student body. For all of the time and effort, the unselfishness and the dedication to the students of Hazel Park High School, we thank Mr. Grant with sincere appreciation foran often thankless job. 12

Sports As athletes, we will always remember our competitive league-the S.M.A. With the likes of Kimball, Ferndale, Southfield, Berkley, and Seaholm, who needs new teams like Troy and Andover? Recall: the boys cross country team, who were nudged out for the league title; Sue Paquette once again an All-Stater; and wrestling sends five to State. We’ll try to forget: ‘‘The Kimball Choke”; the long rides to Andover; the absence of the gymnastics team; and our cold Homecoming. Most of all, we will never forget the feeling of accomplishment when big wins came. 14
