CUTTINGS FROM THE HISTORY, THE WILL AND THE PROPHECY OF THE SENIOR CLASS In the fall of 1942. five of us Sen1ors entered the seventh grade to gether and have continued through the school years years f1lled w1th Joys and trlals Some of these school years we have had large numbers tn our classes but as we have gone on toward graduatwn the number has grown smaller Probably our biggest class was the Freshrnan when there were more than twenty of us We recall the seventh and e1ghth grades as the years when several of our comrades had great crushes Chester Lykms and Oleon Lmdon Edna Nlckell and Henry Allan Stovall Jean Eloise McL1n and Ralph Brewer Byron johnson and Barbara Whxte and Annette Cecll and Bobby Rose My how ttme does change thmgs We look back and laugh Durmg the sophomore year two of our gxrls Oleon L1ndon and Carol Nickell left us to be marrted Th1s also was the last year Annette Cec1l and josephme Oldheld were with us In our jumor year we welcomed Marvin lV'1tchel11nto ODI' class Mdrvm served in the Navy durlng World War II but had gone to school here previously Broke Leg Falls shall never forget ut, we are sure Several members of the party got lost and did not get back to the p1cn1c grounds until after dark the semor sponsor lost a shoe Rowena Campbell famted but really we all had a wonderful time We the juniors of 1947 and the Seniors put on a Bible play called The Slave Maid of Israel whxch brought us many complm-ents During summer vacation of 1947 Marvm Nitchell forgot all his ed ucation and was married but did join us again tn the fall In our Semor year we have had many good t1mes among the best out trip to Transylvania College where we heard some very intereshng lectures the county fair and carnival at Campton the Halloween party which we sponsored for the entire school and wh1ch brought us first prize for our stunt and our class party at Natural Bridge The party at Natural Bridge really came to a memorable event for june Holbrook as it was due to it that she met her husband to be Eugene Blandenship Those who went to the junior-Senior party, in the spring of 1947, at
