24 SUCCQJJEK Sudan One of the most successful seasons in H H S history was wrapped up by the Hurricane cagers this year. The ledger shows lh wins chalked up in a total of 20 games. Conference record: 9 wins, 3 losses. In conference competition the Hurricanes captured second place, after holding top spot a good share of the season. Playing scrappy, aggressive ball, the Hurricanes proved one of the fastest quintets seen in action in many years. Smooth ball-handling by guards Alan Olsen and Jerry Tordoff, plus dead- ly marksmanship by this pair, accounted for much of Hayward's offensive strength. Hawking the ball in and around and under the hoops by Jim Archambault, center, and Roland Heinkel and Duane Barber, for- wards, also added to the teams' success. Most important quality was consistent, smooth, Teamwork. Everybody played the game hard and well. Reserve players saw plenty of action and always did a fine job in relief roles. Individual scoring records show what an important job the re- serves did. They include Bob Woodbeck, Dennis and Jim Barber, Larry Somerville and Tom Larson. Two seniors, Alan Olsen and Roland Heinkel, will be absent from next year's cage roster. These boys played the game well and will be missed when competition is resumed next fall. The B team also ended a successful season with a record of 9 wins against 3 losses.
