Principal Don Oakes rinciloa is Weadage Today, we look longingly to the majestic white build- ings with their distinctive Greek columns, and we cannot help but feel sadness. For the second time in the past seventy years, the student body of Hayward High School must say farewell to a campus. Its first experience was in 1912 when it left the Soto Street school for the present location. For the Senior Class and those remaining, we must keep in mind our traditions and fine academic rec- ord, which, fortunately, we are not leaving behind. There- fore, let us be reminiscent of our past in terms of high accomplishments as an institution of learning and be determined to see it continue in the same shining light. And so we say farewell to the old Hayward High with thanksgiving for the security it has given its citizenry in the past and vow to perpetuate these fine things at the new location with the same zeal and enthusiasm which has prevailed through the years.
