Each year this Annual is printed in honor of a group of students who have bridged one gap in their educational career. The four years spent in Hayward Union High School are the Treasure Isle that will long remain in the memory of these graduates. At high school you graduates explored many new fields of ex' perience just as you will at the Fair. It is my wish for you, that in this exploration you found many things that will mean future success and happiness. H. B. LONG Dedication To Annis Ostrander and to Carl Ekoos for their consistent and invaluable work as deans, the staff of the 1939 Black and Gold sincerely dedicates this yearbook. Acknowledgements The Yearbook Staff wishes to give special credit to: The Wallace Studio for its eflicient services, to Seigi Hamasaki for all the block prints in the book, and to The advertisers for their interest and support.
