(A look at the year-in-review by Miss Bailey) The HAYTI High School Speech Team competed in twelve tournaments. Since we compete against most 3A schools, Hayti has a surprising record with over 30 trophies for the 1983-84 year. Sophomore Aaron Cooper was the president and looks forward to a big junior year. Tonya Whitener really shined as the MVP of the team. She has competed two years and accumulated over 15 trophies in Prose, Poetry, Duet and Dramatic. A hard-working, more earnest person could not be fond. The team will really miss Tonya. 13
