The meets participated in and places earned for the 1972 schedule were as follows: Mulvane Invitational 1st Derby Invitational 2nd Haysville Relays lst Goddard Dual 1st League Meet 2nd Outstanding performer for 1972 in the 7th grade was Richard Hall in the Pole Vault as he set a new league mark of 8' 11 Second Year Wrestlers In their 6th year the Hawk wrestling squad faced its largest schedule to date: 7 meets 8 1 tournament. With 14 returning 8th graders workouts began in December and continued through the competitive meets in February S March. This year the team goes to the McPherson tourna- ment as defending champions which they won last year. The boys competed for positions in the 17 weight di- visions: 764, 804, 843, 886, 92if,96i9f,10Of54,1O5!f,110s?, 115ff,1204f,1271?, 133ylf,13816f, 1453, 1544, HWT. Boys are able to earn letters by accumulating match and! or team points. Team points are scored by: Draw ltiej:2pts. , Decision:3pts. fby more than 10 match points:4pts. Hildebrant, S. Munkries, A. Cook. This team consists of a group of girls who took second plac in the events. Mrs. Short, Coach, assisted in bringing in many victories. SEVENTH GRADE IN ACTION. Seventh Grade asketball Team COACH AL VAN ETTEN Seventh grade basketball develops fundamentals and primary basketball knowledge. The seventh grade Hawks have progressed well during the season and have many boys who will excell in basketball in their future school years. Even though they did not have an out- standing season recordg their enthusiasm, desire and team spirit is a factor to be complimented. Thanks to the squad for an enjoyable and exciting season.
