COACH BLASI COACH STURM Haysville Hawks Wins League Championship .ami nv E 3 I-laysville rides to a victory! It, takes thinking to win. The 1972 football season was a good one for the Hawks. Their ability was shown by a victorious record of 6 wins and only one loss. Their hard work and effort on the practice field, under the guidance of Coach Blasi and Coach Sturm, paid off with the league championship. This championship could be termed a school effort with coaches, players, pep club, cheerleaders and loyal fans all contributing to the success of the 1972 Hawks football team. The highlight of the season is a good example, when on a cold and wet night, everyone went to Derby to beat a once beaten team in overtime for an undisputed championship. The Sth graders are currently in 2nd place in the Suburban League standings with a league record of 4 wins and 2 losses. The overall record is 5 wins and 2 losses. Last year, while competing as 7th graders, the team finished with an 11-3 record which was good for 2nd place in the league.
