It, takes thinking to win. The 1972 football season was a good one for the Hawks. Their ability was shown by a victorious record of 6 wins and only one loss. Their hard work and effort on the practice field, under the guidance of Coach Blasi and Coach Sturm, paid off with the league championship. This championship could be termed a school effort with coaches, players, pep club, cheerleaders and loyal fans all contributing to the success of the 1972 Hawks football team. The highlight of the season is a good example, when on a cold and wet night, everyone went to Derby to beat a once beaten team in overtime for an undisputed championship.
