TABLE or coNTENTs FOREWORD The year of 1969 through 1970 has been an undescribable experience at Haysville junior High. In the two years you spend at Ir. High you grow and learn many things Sock-hops, games, classes and other functions help us to grow physically, mentally and form our personalities. We wish to express our thanks to everyone for making this another re- warding year. For the 8th graders, we wish you good luck! Greetings: l 1 Welcome to Haysville junior High School. We hope your two years stay here will be enjoyable and profitable. lt is the philosophy of the Board of Education in Haysville to offer as many exploratory activities for our junior High School programs as possible. We are proud of our Staff, and We are pleased with the attitude and desire of our student body. By the Kansas State Department of Education Accre- ditation, Haysville junior High School is a Class A School. This means that we offer above and beyond the necessary requirements for a comprehensive education at the junior High School level. We hope that you will appreciate the facilities, equipment, laboratory and activity programs that have been provided for you, and that you will take full ad- vantage of them. We are happy to have you among us. Sincerely, Bryce D. Stallard, Superintendent of Schools This publication for years to come will help you recall many memories of the 1969- 70 school year. The sixties have brought forth short skirts, long hair, the growing of the war in Vietnam, student unrest on campus, footsteps on the moon Texas as the number one football team, and the Hawks a second straight undefeated football season. These are only a few of the many happenings in which you have been involved The student body, past and present, can claim much of the credit for the fine record of school spirit, school activities and achievements. One day you will leaf through this book and recall various experiences in junior high. Many of them will be brought to life by the sight of an old friend's face.
