BOYS INTRAMURALS FRONT ROW: Jon Morrison, Steve McFeeters, Mike Letterman, Tom Simpson, Bruce Blacksten, Terry Mark- hart, Mike Quade, Ron Hunsucker, Robert Christian, Gayle Crotts, Kevin Miner, Mike Dunn, SECOND ROW: Mark Lane, Doug Utz, Brad Oxford, Bill Stone, Tom Harrington, Kenny Roberts, Farrell McClintock, Eric Witkoski, Galen Smith. All 7th and Sth grade boys that so desire many participate in the intramural program. Boys are placed on teams and play a round robin schedule of basketball, volleyball, and softball. Individual sports include badminton and table tennis with tournaments held in these sports. Boys meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:15- 12:1O for this program. GIRLS INTRAMURA LS FRONT ROW: Vona Ozbun, Kathy Self, Nina McKee, Sandra Gann, Elaine Ouade, Priscilla Desjardins, SEC- OND ROW: Teresa Patterson, Sandra Matlock, Sandy Blankenship, Kelly England, Tina Rieth, Judy Mahoney. The purpose of the intramural program is to provide the girls with the opportunity to compete with others in the various sports. Through intramurals those girls with an interest and skill in sports compete against those with similiar skills. The program is offered 2 days a week and alternates with the boys' program. Hopefully intra- murals will someday be a step towards girls athletics. 47

TRACK AND FIELD FRONT ROW: Mike Smith, Doug Garton, David March, Pat Teschke, Mark Payne, john Walters. SECOND ROW Dennis Hall, jim Poynter, Randy Fifer, Gary McCutheon, Bill Clark, Richard Taylor. Being a spring sport, the jr. High track and field program is organized so that boys will have an opportunity to participate in individual as well as team athletic competition. Classes involved in competition include Class A feighth grade onlyj, Class B fseventh grade onlyj, Class C Qany boy seventh or eighth grade weighing 100 pounds or less. jAny boy may participate in the track program. Cuts are not made, thus allowing any boy to stay with the sport the entire season. Track and field is a good sport for all boys to participate in for the individual ac- complishments they are able to make and see within themselves, Events: 75 yd. dash, 100 yd, dash, 220 yd. dash, Hurdles, Long jump, High jump, Pole vault, Shot put, 440 yd, dash f8th onlyj, 440 yd. relay, 880 yd. relay, Medlay relay 18th onlyj. WRESTLING FRONT ROW: Larry jantzen, Kelly Cooper, Bill Everett, Russell Kercher, Ron Pinkston, Pat Teschke, Wade Cole. SECOND ROW: Randy Fifer, Bill Clark, Lonnie Braden, Steve Konkel, Kenneth Waymire, Lyle Smith, Marty Turner, Coach Scott Sturm, john Mann, not pictured. In January the wrestling team started its 3rd year. The boys began conditioning workouts after returning from Christmas vacation. Practices continued through Feb. where they were concerned with fundamentals and perfec- ting skills. Also during this time practices were devoted to elimation tournaments in each weight division and hard practices for the competitive meets in March. The boys wrestled in 17 weight divisions: 7619, 8015, 845, 886, 924, 963, 1003, 1054, 11013, 1155, 12014, 1274, 1334, 13814, 1453, 1543! and heavy weight. Those earn- ing letters did so by scoring team points in any meet by any of the following: Draw:2pts, decision:3pts, fall:5 pts.
