The Parent-Teacher Association QP, T, A, J of the Haysville junior High School is a self-governing unit that plans its' programs and activities to meet the needs of children and youth in the community. This fpastj year, the P. T. A. has purchased some equipment to improve the climate in the classrooms. A mock disaster was conducted in cooperation with the local civil defense director for all patrons in the com- munity. 'Social Nights' were chaperoned by several adults. Sunday Movies were sponsored for all youth in the community. All Boy Scouts in the school district were honored this year during their diamond jubilee. Three in- dividuals were honored with life-membership in P. T. A. for their work with youth in the community. The school nurse was provided with funds for needy dental work. A first this year was a Hobby Day for public display of individual hobbies. Last but not least, the eighth graders were entertained upon their commencement to high school. PEP CL UB 3395: About 160 girls make up this years Pep Club. These girls support the school teams throughout the year. In addi- tion to attending both home and out of town games, the girls boost school spirit by such activities as making signs and decorating bleechers. The sponsor for the Pep Club is Miss Webster.
