A group of 30 gymnastic boys meet in the gymnasium each day during fourth hour. This period is designed to provide an opportunity for boys to better their co-ordina- tion through a range of activities. This group performs during open house and also at half- time of one of our home basketball games. Mr. Deck is to be commended on the fine job he does with these boys. 49

SECOND ROW: Kelvin Kirstatter, Kent Latimer, joe Hays, Julius Darby, Lynn Revard, Mike Gunzlernan, Greg Charboneau, Robert Crawford, Mike Kessler. The Haysville Track Team won three of the four league championships in 1968. The 7th grade and the Class C Team won their division and scored enough points to give Haysville the sweepstakes title also. The 8th grade squad lost by 1 point 88-87 to RESTLI G FIRST ROW: james Pinkston, Marc Bunting, Don Weeks, Robert Crawford, Rod Deffenbaugh, Steve Dochow. SECOND ROW: Coach Steve Clanton, Rick Ohler, Mike Gunzlernan, Lynn Revard, Julius Darby, Brent Norris, a strong Valley Center Team. Mike Frasher. E Z Junior high wrestling began its second year in December. The boys start with weight training and conditioning. In january, they begin intramural wrestling and elimination tournaments in each weight division. Wrestling consists of 7th and 8th grade squads combined. There are 13 weight divisions: 7611, 8041, 8411, 8841, 9241, 9641, 10041, 10544, 11041, 11541, 12044, 12744, 13341, 13811, 14541, 15441, and the heavy weight. The month of Feb. is devoted to hard practice for outside competition. In March five wrestling meets are held, one with Ark City, two with Wellington and Winfield. A boy earns a letter in wrestling by winning team points in any meet. 2 pts. for a draw, 3 pts. for a decision, 5 pts. for a fall. 48

High King and Queen took place February 7, in the school gym. The royalty was announced by Pam Rowland. The finalists for the honor, chosen by a vote of the students were from the eighth grade, They were Rita Plummer, Debbie Miller, Gabby Crawford and Brent Norris. Seventh Grade at- tendants, also chosen byllmzstudentsxverel ebra jo Snnth and hdike Ybarra.'The crowning ceremony took place at half time of the eighth grade game. Teresa Van- Etten and Mike Deck were crown bearers. The l969 King, Brent Norris was crowned bylkun Roudand. Brene inturn, crownedthe l9691Queen, Rimifdunnner.
