They have | Proven that in the years to come they will achieve all they | set out to accomplish. ! Paul plays basketball and is president of the Key Club. Paul’s response for being voted most likely to succeed was “I’ve always been ambitious and eager to get on with my life.” Genia played basketball and belongs to Beta, Drama, and Pep Club. Genia’s response for being voted most likely to succeed was “Because I am an outgoing person, I like to try new things and I am determined to be successful in the future.”’ CLASS CLOWNS Chris Steele and Karen Counts These Seniors bring us the laughter that will always be in the halls of H.H.S. Their individuality has made being part of the class of ’89 fun. Chris plays baseball and belongs to the Key Club, Forensics Team, Pep Club, K.V.G. and FHA. Chris’s response for being voted class clown was “‘I was in a lot of trouble in my underclass days. It got to the point where I just couldn’t say no. All of the psychological help and counseli ng never helped me. Then, I was sitting at home and there was a gun, a pile of crack, and a whoopie cushion. Man, I just had to use one of them.” Karen plays basketball and runs track. She belongs to the Key Club, FBLA, and Beta. Karen’s response for being voted class clown was “I guess because I like to have a good time.”’

28 MOST SCHOOL SPIRITED Randy Deel and Becky Bailey These Seniors have proved their school pride over the years they have spent here at H.H.S. They have shown true spirit through their devotion toward their school. Randy plays varsity football and basketball. He’s in the Key Club and FCA. Randy’s response to being voted most school spirited was “I attend most of the games at H.H.S. and play football and basketball. The biggest reason is that I always yell the loudest at pep rallies.” Becky runs track and belongs to the Key Club, FBLA, Beta, and FCA. Becky’s response for being voted most school spirited was “Due to my extracurricular activities and my loud mouth.”’ SUPERIOR SENI ORS MOST ATHLETIC Gary Owens and Cindy O’quinn The most athletic Seniors are greatly recognized for the image they bring to Haysi High. Without their determina- tion to strive to be the best, we would be at a loss. Their accomplishments will leave a lasting impression. Gary plays football and basketball. He belongs to FCA, Key Club, K.V.G. and Science Club. Gary’s response for being voted most athletic was “‘I guess because I like sports and try to do my best at what I do and I have a lot of good friends that I bribed.” Cindy plays basketball, softball, and tennis. She belongs to Beta, Key Club, Journalism, FBLA, and Drama. Cindy’s response for being voted most athletic was “‘Because I have always been interested in sports and participated every year possible with the simple goal of doing my best. The most important goal in my life that I have accomplished is achieving my 1000 points.”
