We, the annual staff of Haysi High School, wish to show our appreciation to Sylvia Evans for her outstanding efforts toward the betterment of our school by dedicating our 1974 THUNDERBOLT to her. Though Sylvia has been here only two years, she has brought about remarkable changes in the attitudes of her students and acquaintances. She has stirred up student participation in school events. Through her efforts the Pep Club has come to be a truly functioning organization which is eager to cheer our athletes on to success. Sylvia has shown her students and others the meaning of art and beauty. Though she teaches English, her students somehow end up having a discourse in philosophy and experiencing a few ’’sessions” in art and music appreciation. Sylvia ' s main interests include philosophy and religion, which she enjoys discussing immensely. She also enjoys art, music, rapping with friends, and generally having a fine time. The annual staff would like to wish her a long and happy life in which to continue enjoying these and many other things. Sylvia, you ' ve been wonderful and as one means of showing you our appreciation we deidcate to you the 1974 edition of the Haysi High School THUNDERBOLT.
