Glass CProplecy Yes, just yesterday we were thinking what our classmates of 1957-58 last words were. In 20 years from this day, we ' ll meet on the moon for our class reunion. Then, it was something to laugh about, but now since our great scientist, Gloria O. , has brought forth the Saddlelight, it is possible. We decided to go just to see how many of our classmates remembered this. The rocket was off with a boom! Glancing around, we saw we weren ' t the only ones abroad. Billy C. was pilot and Frank W. was Co-Pilot. In the control room we saw Ronnie O. , James Y. , and Carley S. Danny R. , Bobby H. , Gene H. , and Gene C. , the great servicemen, were also abroad. Katy T. and Fairy C. made their round as stewardesses to make sure everyone was comfortable. With a crash, the rocket landed. Awaiting us, was Carrol T. , in a flying saucer, invented by Rhett S. and his assistants, Larry F. and Johnny A. Wandering downtown, we passed a teen-age ri ot, starring Harry M. , Elvis Presley’s biggest rival. Amidst the crowd, Carolynn W. , Virginia M. , Shirley E. , Paula C. , and Kay S. were giving a demonstration of Rock ' n ' Roll as it was in ' 57. Approaching the capital, we saw posters such as: Kennith C. , VS. Edgar R. , for president. Later on, we heard the election returns. James H. was elected Mayor by a Russian Artificial Moon-slide. Touring the court building, we learned that Manthlee Y. , the great lawyer, was trying desperately to clear James B. , Bob T. , Frank R. , Jimmy O. , and Don R. on the case of stealing headless chickens. Touring another section of town, we noticed the different movies showing. Wild Bull from Borneo, starring Ralph O. and Virginia H. ; Man Hunters from Mars, starring Anne A. and Theda E. , co-starring Theda T. and Gladys R. Purchasing the Moon Shine” newspaper, edited by Charlotte L. and Gail H. , we first noticed the headlines as being The Great Missionary, Betty L. , is being hunted by the Detectives, Claude C. , Robert H. and Gary R. , on the charges of fleeing from Pluto. Our attention was also called to another topic. Shelby C. and Hazel F. , representatives from the Travelers Guild of America, were visiting the moon in order to organize a Traveling Housewives Club. Fern C. and Shelby A. were being given a free trip around the world to prove the club was worthwhile. Other members included Helen B. , Betty F. , JoAnn S. , Ethel B. and Ann H. Meanwhile, back in the U. S. , doctors Gray K. , Leon R. , and Georgia T. , with the assistance of their nurses, Maggie C. , Linda Y. and Shirley F. , discovered the cure for gigglites. Being a loyal citizen, Carrol W. volunteered to be their guinea pig. Our travelers companion, Nell S. , accompanied us back to Earth. We arrived in New York just in time for the final game of the World Series. Nina C. ' s one family team won over their competitors with the fine coaching of Donald O. and Palmer W. Wandering on downtown, we saw a sign, JOE ' S GARAGE, owned by Joe H. Stepping inside, we learned that Pauline M. was private secretary, assisted by Janice M. and Edna E. In the next department, George Y. was training Marlene R. and Peggy A. to replace Thanna D. and Berneice C. , who were leaving to be married. Deciding to visit Haysi, we went to the train station. Entering the building to purchase our tickets, we found Phillis E. and Pauline A. at the information desk, and Marie F. as telephone receptionist. Boarding the train, we were greeted at the door by Stoney F. , the conductor. The porter, Ronald C. , turned the TV on, and we quickly noticed the program in progress as This is Your Wife, directed by Ivan D. , the henpecked husband. He was interviewing Earl B. and Sidney C. , who were leaving for Hawaii and Paris on their second honeymoons. With a flash, a special bulletin was announced. Lola E. and Nancy B. were being crowned Housewives of the Year by last year ' s winners, Charlotte O. and Judy C. As soon as we arrived in Haysi, we decided to visit the school. Oland A. had replaced Mr. Tarwater as Principal. Opal M. and Rachel S. were his secretaries. Sue R. and her science class were discussing if a trip to the moon were possible. Trula Y. was head of the Home Ec Department, while Harold E. was the Agricul- ture instructor. Since some of our classmates forgot our reunion on the moon, maybe at our next reunion, 20 years from now, everyone will be present. avorites SHIRLEY EPLING CARROL TURNER ( JKost Uafeniecf VIRGINIA MULLINS ROGER ROSE JIapptesi fflos Or pinal NANCY BELCHER CARROL WOODS Gutest JANICE MULLINS G.
