The Search Is Over . . . Off Again . . . Wisdom is not an easy thing to come by. Knowledge is not easily found. It takes looking, pushing, searching. You keep on and on going deeper and deeper without knowing what is ahead. The things that were once most basic . . . Times change. We search for new absolutes, something to lend security as we walk on unexplored thoughts only half composed but already burst¬ ing into song. And suddenly it appears. The search is over; the treasure found. And a treasure it is, but its greatest wealth is in those questions for whose answers it only gives clues. Off again . . . Truth smells sweet. Beautiful, the thought of untold wisdom. But if not truth what then? Folly is sweet for a time with fleeting perfume; masked by a shrewd and careful devil. And so it goes: new truths dislodging the old falsehoods! Knowledge is this kind of thing. Until proven otherwise we accept the thoughts of others with only the weakest of supports. We must question; not accept blindly, but see the truth or lie for what it is, not the way it first appears. The search continues. With each new idea real¬ ized, whole new worlds are opened to those who are adventuresome; who will commit their very being to discov¬ ery. Entire new fields full of daisies, eager to be picked, are found, but en¬ trance to this vast expanse is often only through some obscure fact, which few will find and fewer utilize to its fullest and be sent off into another even vaster maze of thought. Those who do utilize each bit of knowledge gained will do the most gaining. Their search will be long but the fruits sweet.
