BOYS' BASKETBALL SQUAD The 1947-48 basketball season opened November 11 with' the Hayfield team traveling to Crystal Lake to meet defeat. Four lettermen returned to the squad: Formanek, Blank, Rayhons, and Nedved. We played eighteen games during the season, winning seven, losing twelve. The highlight of the season came when the Hornets went on a winning rampage to win five straight. The Hornets took their second win of the season from Wesley, and went on to beat Goodell, Woden, Goodell, and Garner FFA. All of the five are juniors, and the Hornets have high hopes of a better season in '48 and '49.
